5 Senses

Our first Science Unit was based on the 5 Senses that God gave us to explore the world He gave to us. We learned about each sense and will continue to review throughout the year with all of our other science units.

Getting to know one another

The first few weeks have been fun! Here are some pictures of us getting to know one another and to start reviewing some things that have gotten us all to where we need to be for a journey of learning to read and to grow!

Here we did our first experiment of the year-play dough mixing colors! 

For math time, we learned to sort and classify items based on their differences and similarities. Here, I showed them an item and they had to close their eyes and find the matching item. 

Recess time is a bonding time:)

Here we are being introduced to the famous witch fingers!! We have been using them to point to words as we practice the Lips the Fish and Stretchy the Snake reading strategies. 

We've been reviewing and learning letter/chunk sounds and everyone is catching on SO quickly! Keep practicing at home so that reading can be just as easy!
