100th Day of School

The 100th day was SO fun! We had a full day of 100th day activities. We sorted and graphed 100 objects, did 100 jumping jacks, counted to 100 with bull horns by 1's, 5's and 10's, measured how far 100 of our feet can take us around the school, went on a search around the room for 100 Hershey kisses and of course we made our 100th day shirts with 100 fingers. I only wish that I had taken more pictures but this year, technology has not been my friend! But  I did get an individual shot of each one of your kiddos in their 100th day shirt on the 100th day of school!

Searching and enjoying their 100 Hershey Kisses!

100 of our actual feet (footsteps took us to the art portable!)

January Wrap Up

During January we also learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa parks and how to treat each other peacefully. I didn't take many pictures and the video won't upload on this blog!
Here is just one picture of some work samples and art work we did:

Here is a picture of them singing the song we learned about peace!

February is a busy month so we moved Dental learning up to the last week in January. Here are some pictures of the things we did to learn about teeth:

We wrote a How To about brushing your teeth

Then we practiced brushing with legos and scrub brushes. (round and round, up and down!)

Then we practiced our fine motor skills and flossed using play dough and Legos.

Here's a fun Guess who game for ya!

The Charlie Brown Play was the perfect play for these Kindergarteners!
Here are some pictures of your kiddos enjoying it:

January Fun

We started the year off with some cute resolutions that I hope you saw in your students folder!

Here are a few pictures of your kiddos in their "happy place".

We have started the year with a bang and have gotten serious about non-fiction topics.

We also tested out how the icy cold water slips right off the penguins feathers due to the oil God put on their wings by putting oil on our fingers and dipping them in the icy water.

We learned about penguins and how they stay warm in the Artic. They have blubber so we made a blubber glove and discovered how helpful it really is!

We integrated some penguin activities into our math time too! Here were learned the terms equal and the same. Percy Penguin had to share his goldfish with a friend.

We also finished our "How to" writing session. We took some time to teach each other some of the things we wrote about. Check your communication folders to see what your students wrote about!

We are finishing the month with Dental Health.
