Apple week!

Apple week was a blast!!! Our science standard had us focusing on the needs and parts of plants. Apples were the perfect seasonal plant to focus on! We started the week off by learning how to make an apple pie and see the world! This is a great book and here is a link to the story being read aloud: http://youtu.be/w03XWpdfKRE

We took a suitcase and searched our maps for the best apple pie ingredients in the world! 

Then we made an apple pie! 

Most of the students enjoyed making the pie more than actually tasting it!

Next time I'll be sure to bring some ice cream! 

We tied apples in where ever we could! Apple books, Apple math centers and crafts and even Apple sight word books and so much fun!

Another highlight was having an apple as a guest reader!!!

Leighton's grandmother is a retired Kindegarten teacher so she knows just how to keep their attention!
