We shared our collections of 100 things (some creative things!). Unfortunately I did not get a moment to take a picture of them with their collections:( We wrote about our 100th birthdays, if we had $100, we counted and wrote to 100, wrote and read 100 words and did all of our usual procedures for the 100th time! To end our 100th day we played In it to Win it in 100 seconds!!
We had three events:
The Pom-pom throw.....the winner had the most pom-poms thrown through the hoop in 100 seconds!
The next *challenge* (as the kids like to call it:) was sorting the most shapes by shape in 100 seconds:
Makayla was SO wiped out from the last challenge:)
(Surprisingly the kids also really liked the stopwatch-they kept grabbing it! Maybe a cheap Valentine's Day gift?)
The last event/challenge was stacking pennies. Only pennies that were stacked at the 100 second mark were counted. The most pennies stacked won! Now this event really challenged the kiddos to work together and to be encouraging. Those silly pennies just kept falling over!
They had a blast and there were no hard feelings when the winning team was announced!! Thank you for teaching your kids how to be good sports!
It was a GREAT 100th day and one I will never forget!!
We also learned more about coins-which President is on which, what is on the tails side, how much are they worth....here is a little rhyme we have been using!! ( I take no credit for coming up with the rhyme-it totally came from Pinterest!)
We played a memory game where one player held all of the coins, chose one to give hints about and the other player had to guess. Once they had guessed all of the coins they switched roles! Hearing them say Monticello and Lincoln Memorial is the cutest thing!
Next week is Valentine's Week! Cannot wait for all the sweetness!!
Thank you again for THE BEST KIDS EVER.
