Reading Incentives

BINGO! Our first quarter ended with a game of Bingo! Each student turned in at least one bingo chart-which means that they read at least 5 books....hopefully more than that! Since we reached our goal we spent one morning playing sight word bingo (yes I had to throw some practice in there too!)

These two earned a Star Reader basket for turning in the most Bingo charts! They  each turned in 6 charts which is at least 30 books!! Way to go Amani and Leighton!

Then of course, was the sight word incentive!! I know you were working hard at home to help your student remember their sight words! Each student showed great progress so they earned a witch finger! This is a great tool to use as they read one word at a time!
These two were so excited for each other that they hugged. Be still my heart!! I loved this!!!
Here they are excited about reaching their goal!

Our 2nd quarter is a new incentive but the same goal-to get your students excited about reading and to create a habit of reading every day! There was an extra incentive for the students to read there first 10 books for the 2nd quarter- the first 5 students to turn in their pizza charts get to eat lunch with the teacher and get cupcakes! Here is our chart:
Once a student turns in a filled pizza chart, they get a free pizza coupon and a pepperoni on our chart! Once everyone has a pepperoni on the chart, we will have a pizza party! Please help our students reach their goal!
Three students have already turned a chart in and got to eat lunch with me! Here they are with their cupcakes:
