We started the year off with some cute resolutions that I hope you saw in your students folder!

We have started the year with a bang and have gotten serious about non-fiction topics.
We also tested out how the icy cold water slips right off the penguins feathers due to the oil God put on their wings by putting oil on our fingers and dipping them in the icy water.
We learned about penguins and how they stay warm in the Artic. They have blubber so we made a blubber glove and discovered how helpful it really is!
We integrated some penguin activities into our math time too! Here were learned the terms equal and the same. Percy Penguin had to share his goldfish with a friend.
We also finished our "How to" writing session. We took some time to teach each other some of the things we wrote about. Check your communication folders to see what your students wrote about!
We are finishing the month with Dental Health.
